§ 01 · Exterior Wrap

Exterior Wrap — Built for Salt + Sun

Marine-grade thermoplastic urethane + premium cast vinyl, applied to hulls and topsides in 62 colors. Four reasons it outperforms traditional options.

Water droplets beading on matte navy PPF — hydrophobic finish

01

Salt + UV Resistance

Marine-grade TPU chemistry built for salt spray, bottom-wash chemistry, and South Florida's tropical sun. Chemically inert to salt water — unlike gelcoat and paint.

Fresh water sheeting off gloss deep black PPF

02

Self-Healing Finish

Minor scratches from dock rub, fishing gear, wash-down brushes, and fender scuffs self-resolve with heat. No polish, no touch-up, no compound.

Matte navy PPF meeting natural teak rub rail — clean transition

03

Reversible, Gelcoat-Safe

No respray cost to change color for resale or a refit. Removal is clean — no adhesive residue, no damage to the gelcoat underneath.

04

No Drydock Required

Applied at your slip or in our Hollywood shop. Zero lift, zero drydock fees, zero time out of service — a dry-weather window is all the scheduling we need.

Exterior Wrap — PPF or Vinyl?

Two premium films, two different owner profiles. Both are marina-installable, both are reversible. Pick on use case, budget, and how long the boat lives outdoors.

The bottom line: Colored PPF for anything parked in saltwater year-round — the self-healing + UV spec earns the premium. Vinyl for boats kept covered, trailered, or refreshed every 3–4 years.

What We Wrap on the Exterior

Any painted or gelcoated surface is a candidate. We scope each job around the owner's priorities — full topsides, accents only, or anything in between.

Luxury yacht hull — gloss black paint protection film
40 – 120 ft

Yachts + Cruisers

Full topsides, superstructure, hardtops, bow flags, and transom lettering. Reversible color changes without drydock time.

Center-console T-top frame — gunmetal satin PPF
22 – 42 ft

Center Consoles

Hull sides, consoles, T-top frames, and leaning-post accents. The self-healing finish shrugs off dock rub and fishing-gear contact.

Carbon-fiber panel seam under clear PPF
18 – 26 ft

Wake + Performance

Tower accents, hull flashes, and two-tone paint treatments. Lightweight film adds no meaningful weight to a performance hull.

Surfaces we cover

Hull sides + boot stripes
Superstructure + cabin sides
Hardtops + T-tops
Consoles + helm panels
Transoms + swim platforms
Bow flags + accent stripes
Tower accents
Carbon-fiber panels
§ 02 · Interior Wrap
Teak grain architectural interior — natural wood meeting marine-grade vinyl

Interior Wrap — Refresh Without the Rebuild

Marine-grade architectural vinyl applied to cabin walls, galley cabinetry, helm dash facings, heads, and salon trim. Refresh dated interiors without tear-out, custom joinery, or 6-figure refit bills. Reversible, dimensionally stable in humidity, available in wood grains, stone, matte whites, and brushed metals.

  • Cabin + stateroom walls
  • Galley cabinet refresh
  • Helm + dash facings
  • Head + shower surrounds
  • Salon + dinette seating trim
  • Engine room panels

§ 03 · Paint Protection Film

Universal Clear Protection

Paint protection film isn't a service — it's a protection layer. Self-healing clear urethane bonds to any non-porous surface, interior or exterior, with zero visual change. Applied on top of a wrap, on top of gelcoat, on top of varnished teak, on top of stone — wherever an owner wants impact, abrasion, or UV armor without touching the look underneath.

Exterior applications

  • • Hull impact zones + waterlines
  • • Bow + anchor locker areas
  • • Trailer transport surfaces
  • • Tender lift contact points

Interior applications

  • • Helm dash + console panels
  • • Bar tops + galley counters
  • • Door edges + high-traffic trim
  • • Stone + glass + polished metals

Stack with ceramic: PPF + System X ceramic is the layered-protection spec — PPF handles impact, ceramic handles hydrophobic wash-down. Both pair cleanly on top of any wrap or gelcoat finish.

§ 04 · System X Certified
Certified Installer

Marine Ceramic Coating — System X

Wrap Trap is a certified System X ceramic installer — the chemistry that sheets salt, eases wash-down, and stacks on top of wrap or PPF for layered protection. This isn't a retail-shelf coating — it's professional-only chemistry with an installer warranty and a hardness spec you can verify.

Marine Wrap Services FAQ

The same thermoplastic urethane chemistry that stops rock chips and salt corrosion on cars is built to resist salt spray on boats. Colored PPF is chemically inert to salt water, bottom wash chemicals, and brackish exposure — unlike paint and gelcoat, which oxidize and chalk. Rinse-down with fresh water is still recommended, but the film itself won't degrade from salt contact. In South Florida conditions we expect a 7–10 year service life on the topsides and superstructure when properly maintained.
Yes — gelcoat is actually an ideal substrate. The surface needs to be clean, fully cured, and free of wax, polish residue, and oxidation. We perform a full decontamination and clay treatment before installation, same as on a vehicle. If the gelcoat has heavy oxidation, we'll machine polish it first so the film bonds to a solid surface. Fresh paint needs to cure (typically 30–60 days) before application.
Timeline depends on boat size and scope of work. A center console (20–30 ft) with hull sides and superstructure typically takes 3–5 days. A larger yacht with full topsides, hardtop, and console accents can run 7–14 days. We work on-site at your marina or in our Hollywood shop for trailerable boats. You'll get a firm timeline at the estimate stage — we don't start without one.
Every installation carries our installation warranty plus the manufacturer's film warranty. The manufacturer warranty covers the film itself against yellowing, delamination, cracking, and loss of adhesion for the rated period (varies by film line). Our installation warranty covers edge lifts, seam issues, or application defects. If something isn't right, we make it right.
Yes — clean removability is one of the biggest reasons owners choose colored PPF over paint or traditional wraps. When the film is within its service life and properly installed, it comes off cleanly without damaging gelcoat or leaving adhesive residue. This is a major advantage for resale — you can return the boat to its original finish or change the look before sale. Removal is a professional service; we don't recommend DIY on a boat.
A professional marine repaint (Awlgrip or equivalent) on even a mid-sized boat runs into five or six figures and removes the boat from service for weeks. Colored PPF delivers a comparable color-change result at a fraction of that investment, is typically done in days rather than weeks, and is fully reversible. We don't publish pricing on service pages because every boat is different — reach out for a marine-specific estimate.
Yes. Carbon fiber is a compatible substrate — the film adheres well to the clear-coated gel surface that most carbon parts ship with. Colored PPF is actually a great way to protect exposed carbon weave from UV chalking while optionally changing the visible color. We've applied film over carbon T-tops, hardtops, and composite panels.
For larger yachts that can't be easily transported, yes — we offer on-site installation at most South Florida marinas. We'll need reasonable access, power, and a covered or indoor slip for the duration of the work (dust, wind, and direct rain are installation killers). Smaller trailerable boats come to the Hollywood shop. We'll coordinate logistics at the estimate stage.
